Description:
Bertha is a purebred miniature Dachshund. Dark red "Smoothie". Female about ten or eleven years old, and up to a nice 15 lbs. Spayed, fully vaccinated and heartworm negative. No back problems and eyes very clear. *Officially* housebroken.

Bertha is a bright active little girl with typical dachsie zest for life. She has quite a few good years left in her to love you. Bertha is very friendly (but not overbearing) sweet and affectionate. She likes to meet new people and gets along with other dogs very well. Does great with kids of any age because she so very gentle natured and cuddly. Only thing is she is toooo curious about cats so would do best in a no-cat home.

She was originally brought in as a stray to the city shelter of San Angelo. Very thin and malnourished but eager to be rescued. A local rep of ATDR did just that. Bertha is currently being fostered in sunny West Texas preparing for a new life ahead. She is missing some teeth and had two dental surgeries to get her mouth clean and healed. Poor old gal also had some hair loss and skin darkened due to malnutrition. But a good diet and special baths healed her complexion for the most part. Today her precious face shines so bright with joy as if she knows she will spend the rest of her years with a very special family. Somebody out there deserves to be loved by Bertha.
