Ginny

Ginny day 1 Ginny side
Ginny Ginny day 2

Ginny's journey - She didn't know it at the time, but Ginny's journey began the day she sat trembling, cold and afraid on a wet cement floor with no bed, no blanket or even a towel for comfort.  Her rescuer was there to pick up another dachshund; an older one whose owners left him at a kill shelter because he was old.  Did they know most "owner surrenders" are euthanized immediately, to free up space for younger, cuter "adoptable" dogs?  Fortunately for him, and for Ginny, one kind soul at the shelter reached out to rescue groups in the Dallas area; "We have another dachshund.  Does your group have room for one more?"  We knew this shelter gasses animals and we couldn't bear the thought of it so we made room "for one more."  Walking through the cold, dark shelter our volunteer just happened to see Ginny there; the shelter was so overcrowded the employees didn't notice her, but the volunteer did.  "I'll take her too."  And so it began, Ginny's journey to a new life.  One of Ginny's first steps in her new life was a visit to the vet.  There it was found that she has a nasty bacterial infection that has inflamed her ear, causing small polyps to form, and will take several weeks to clear up.  Her eardrum is ruptured and it appears she's deaf in that ear, but with all the swelling the infection has caused it is really hard to tell.  If the swelling from the infection in her ear does not go down, she will require surgery.  Through it all, Ginny remains a sweet and loving little soul.  She has quite a ways to go to regain full health again, but we're committed to seeing to it that she gets the medical attention that she needs.  Won't you please help by making a donation toward her medical care?  No amount is too small!
