ATDR HELPS A MEMBER OF OUR ARMED FORCES
AND YOU CAN TOO!!!!

Ginger is the beloved furchild of a member of our United States armed forces.  When Ginger's mom was deployed to serve our country, she tried very hard to find a family member or friend to care for Ginger until she could return from her tour of duty.  Unfortunately, no one she knew could take Ginger, so as a last resort she relinquished Ginger to an animal control facility.  ATDR was immediately alerted and picked up Ginger that very same day.  After hearing Ginger's story, Ginger's ATDR foster mom wondered if maybe ATDR could do something it has never done before - provide long term foster care until Ginger's mom returns from her tour of duty.  She thought it was the least she and ATDR could do to honor Ginger's mom's military service to our country.  So, Ginger's mom was contacted and it was Mission Accomplished!!  It turns out that Ginger's mom and her young daughter, who is very bonded to Ginger, had not wanted to give Ginger up but felt they had no other option.  They were very excited to know Ginger would be there waiting for them when they return to the United States.  So, Ginger will hang out with her new foster family and be lovingly taken care of until her military family returns for her.

Thankfully, Ginger is healthy and happy, but ATDR did have to pay to have her fully vetted and spayed; and we'll be taking care of all her needs, including heartworm preventative and any other vet bills that may arise.  By supporting ATDR you not only help dachshunds in need find permanent, loving homes but you can help support Ginger who will be waiting with bells on to be reunited with her family as soon as her military mom returns home.  So, please contribute any amount you are able so that you and ATDR can help support our armed forces' entire family, including their furchildren.
