Description: Sweet little Greta was found wandering alone in Brazoria County and ended up in a small animal control facility without a public adoption program. No one came looking for Greta, so thankfully a kind officer reached out to ATDR for help. Greta’s teeth were mostly missing and the ones that she did have were very painful. She has since had a dental and the remaining teeth were removed helping her to feel much better. Greta does great on a soft food diet and has no trouble drinking water. She has had all of her vaccines, is heartworm negative and on preventative. The vet detected a heart murmur at the time of her initial exam. So far meds are not needed, but her new family’s vet will need to check her periodically for changes.
Greta gets along great with all of the other dogs in her foster home. She is housetrained when taken outside on a schedule. She does well in a crate but doesn’t necessarily have to be crated as she is not destructive. She stays in a 2' x 2' exercise pen with her bed, water bowl and a puppy pad (just in case) when her foster parents are away. Greta startles easily and is not comfortable being held for more than a few minutes, so she will need a home without young children. We are unsure how she does with cats.
If you're interested in adding this sweet girl to your family, please consider completing our no-obligation adoption application. Greta is so deserving of having a forever home and family who will love and care for her.
In the meantime, ATDR is seeking sponsorship for Greta. Any amount would be a great help. Go to the Donate button on the front page of this site or mail a check to ATDR at P. O. Box 841336, Pearland, TX 77584 if you'd be kind enough to make a contribution toward her care.
