Description:
Sweet little Mina and her best friend and brother Buster came to ATDR from a shelter and, although scared at first, have adjusted quickly to being happy now in their foster home together. They’ve been together since they were very young, sleeping snuggled up and being pretty much inseparable. They love each other… In the house, they stick together, but Mina is a real lap lover lavishing kisses on whoever owns that lap and she also enjoys playing with toys. Mina has made friends with her foster mom’s big dog Snickers so that she can play with Snickers' toys, but Buster will always be her BFF! Mina and Buster are both wonderful dogs and never get into the trash or anything else. They love chewies but do not chew on anything they shouldn’t!
They would both love sleeping in the big bed, but they both crate well without any problem and will always let their foster mom know when it’s time in the morning to get outside and they do so in a hurry! Some days Mina eats like a horse and some days she just picks, but it doesn’t affect her energy levels at all. Mina likes to take her time eating, savoring every bite, so Buster needs to be watched so he doesn’t help her finish her meals. Mina and Buster both walk very well on a leash and look forward every morning to their mile walk after breakfast. Mina has to be the first in the pack and always walks at a very quick pace. She is an explorer on the five acres where they live, as is Buster, and many times she leads him into the woods for an adventure. They love to run and chase each other and whatever is running around…on the property there are lots of bunnies larger than they are and they get excited and try to catch them, but no luck so far!!! They both need to be walked regularly to keep their weight down. When they first came into foster care, Mina wouldn’t go outside in the cold, but now she doesn’t seem to mind the temperature or the rain. They both regularly use the doggie door and enjoy being outside when the weather is good. They are very active outside, but when they come in, most of the time they get into their chair and snooze.
Before coming into rescue, this sweet pair was well loved by a senior person who had to give up her home and could no longer keep them. They need to stay together. They’d be perfect for a home looking for two bonded pups to love and share life with and would be best going to a home where they’re the only dogs. Won't you please consider opening your heart and your home to these two sweet pups?
