Sweet beautiful Schatzie was surrendered by her beloved owner because she was no longer able to care for her. She was very good, but shy and standoffish for a few days after coming to us because she felt abandoned. She’s become more comfortable and settled in now, wagging her tail while lifting her little paws on her foster mom’s legs for affectionate rubs and enjoys snuggling next to her in the comfortable chair on occasion, being more of a snuggler than a lap dog. She occasionally lifts her little paw for us to shake hands and knows her way up and down the doggie ramp to the top of the daybed instead of curling up in her little bed. She rides well in the car without a crate, claiming a space on the back seat until ready to be lifted out. Schatzie’s good with cats and loves her furry canine foster sisters, initiating play now and then while never being a pest to the older ones. Never noisy, she’s good natured, extremely well behaved and easy to manage, good on a leash and completely house trained, going outside at appropriate times and then scratching at the door when she wants back in. Given a few days to adjust, Schatzie will make a WONDERFUL laid back pet for the fortunate home who adopts her. She’ll be an absolutely perfect housemate with nothing to work on or correct! She’s very easy to love!
Schatzie is on the spa diet the vet believes she should be around 12 pounds.
