Our beautiful little boy Maxwell crossed over the Rainbow Bridge and was welcomed by his foster brothers and sisters.  One of the sweetest souls ever placed on the planet, he was placed in ATDR's loving hands before gracing our lives.  Doug and I will always have him in our hearts.  We will miss his funny quirks and taking long naps with him.

Adopted 2015,

Love you forever little friend.

As Molly’s mom for nearly 11 years, it breaks our hearts to share that she crossed the Rainbow Bridge on October 2nd at approximately 16 years old. My husband and I were incredibly honored to be her parents for more than two-thirds of her life.

Molly came to ATDR through no fault of her own after her previous owner passed away. We fostered her in early 2015, and from the moment I held her on the ride home, it was clear she had found where she belonged. What began as a “temporary foster” quickly became forever. We renamed her Molly, and she embraced her new name—and new life—wholeheartedly.

With patience, love, and time, Molly blossomed into a confident, joyful, and deeply devoted companion. It became clear she had once been a working dog of some kind, as she remained incredibly focused, attentive, and in tune with her person. She loved traveling, adventures, and simply being by my side, always alert and ready to comfort me when I needed it most. She gave her life purpose again by caring for her human, and she was exceptional at it.

In her senior years, Molly faced a progressive neurological condition that slowly affected her mobility. With the support of wonderful veterinary and rehabilitation professionals, we focused on keeping her comfortable and happy. For over a year, she remained pain-free and surrounded by love, adapting gracefully to every change.

When her time came, it happened quickly and peacefully. She passed while being held in our arms, knowing nothing but love. We are forever grateful we were able to spend her final weeks doing what she loved most—traveling together on one last road trip through the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Molly was truly our doggie angel, and she will always hold a permanent place in our hearts. Until we meet again, sweet girl—run free and rest in loving peace. ️❤️
