Description:

Meet Millie!
This cute girl came into the world very unexpected, you could even say she was a miracle!! Her mom (Molly) was abandoned at a small town shelter.  Rescued by ATDR, in a few days she was at our Vet to be spayed and she was found to be pregnant!! Millie was the only puppy and she survived!   As she has grown in her foster home it is obvious that this girl had no intention of doing anything but living! She is one spunky puppy! This precious girl is a double dapple and does have some special needs. She does appear to be mostly deaf or very hearing impaired and has limited vision and may possibly be blind, BUT that doesn't stop her from racing around the house and harassing the other dogs.

Although Molly, her mother, is a Piebald/Double Dapple Dachshund, Millie's father was of an unknown breed or mix. Millie has a lot of Chihuahua-like features the most prominent is a tail that curls over her back. At 7 weeks she weighs 2 lbs. and has great coloring and a spunky attitude. Another challenge is that without siblings, she's not getting much experience learning her limits. Her foster family keeps her in a pen with a crate, fleece blankets, a towel under her food and water bowls, and newspaper elsewhere. The idea is that the textures help her differentiate the "zones." It seems to be working; she only relieves herself on the paper. Millie loves her toy cat and loves to play! She is a very active, happy go lucky puppy! She has had her first set of shots and will be ready for her new home very soon. If you can give this little miracle a full and happy life please fill out an application, she is waiting for you!
