Meet Roger, a very sweet little man! From far North Texas, he was placed in a shelter when his mom had to go into a nursing home. Roger was a bit depressed at first, but has adjusted well in his foster home getting along great with his foster siblings, including a large dog who can be a bit intimidating. He seems to be fine with kitty cats too. Roger has had some hair loss and a few health issues which have been addressed since coming into rescue, but his hair is coming back in and he’s improving health wise every day. He weighs about 12 lbs, which is a good weight for him. Roger will probably have to be on a low fat diet for the rest of his life, but that doesn't stop him from exploring the world, eating treats when offered, speaking up when the water bowl is empty, and doing his business outside or using the piddle pad (when it's raining). He likes the occasional cuddle, though if you'd like to hold him all the time, he'd be delighted with that! He will sleep in a little doggy bed on the floor but prefers to be right next to you at night. If you'd like to dress him in something dapper, he'd be okay with that and rock the style! If the occasional vocal comment doesn't bother you (when he'd like dinner or to tell you he needs to go out) and you like lots of sweet Doxie cuddles, Roger is the perfect guy for you.
Roger was just diagnosed with Cushing and so will need medical attention going forward. Any amount of sponsorship will be greatly appreciated for him.
