Russell is a quirky little guy who’s also a bit of a climber! He’s going to need a forever home with someone who is not a first-time dog owner who has no smaller children. He must be handled very gently and with respect and he will give cues when he needs “space.” Responsible teenagers would probably be OK. Russell is a little cutie and well worth this bit of effort!
Russell has gained his weight back and his skin and coat are healthy and velvety! He is quite the ladies man but also likes dad time as long as it still comes with snuggles. He has now decided he likes toys, especially if they are very floppy and 3 times his size AND he has also become very playful in games of chase with the other dogs his age. Russell enjoys lounging on the patio in the sun or sitting in the flower bed, but he would also make an excellent apartment dog as clearly used to live in one and dearly loves walks. He is also a good car rider and also sleeps quietly in his crate at night and would probably need very little convincing to sleep in the big bed. Little Russell is blind in one eye due to trauma suffered before he arrived. He is in no pain and is extremely adapted. He never misses a beat, but he can be startled from that side so he has informed his foster mom he prefers a home with no young children as their exuberance and handling can frustrate and confuse him. Whether in an apartment or home with a yard, with or without other dogs, Russell would be a great and loving companion for a family or single owner!
Russell has been given a clean bill of health and received his vaccinations. He weighs 6.25 lbs at the moment. He needs groceries and some skin care from the "fleep" invasion, but otherwise is ready for adoption. He is neutered and microchipped. Russell loves to cuddle and gets along well with other dogs. So far he has not been interested in toys. He is a good boy in his crate and in a play pen, although he figured out how to channel his inner cat and climb right out of the pen when his foster mom left the room!! He is sweet, smart, polite, leash/walk trained, figured out the doggie door immediately, good in the bath, obedient, and seems to be pretty well potty trained. He will be an all around good “furiend.” You know you want him...yes...YOU!!!!!
