Bonnie was found during Hurricane Harvey roaming the streets alone. Her finder was unable to keep her due to allergies, so she has landed in a nice safe spot with ATDR. We were unable to locate her owner's after searching for 30 days, so Bonnie is now available for adoption.
First order of business was a BADLY needed dental cleaning. ATDR's vet said they were some of the worst teeth she had seen. Poor Bonnie did have to have 22 teeth removed, but it never slowed her down a bit! The same evening after her surgery she was home wagging her tail and begging for dinner. She's a wonderful little cuddle bug, and would be very happy sitting with her person as much as possible to get belly rubs and snuggles. She gets along well with all of the other dogs in her foster home, but she definitely prefers people to other dogs. She's fairly quiet for a dachshund…for the most part she only barks when someone knocks at the door or the doorbell rings. Bonnie does need some more work on house training, but her foster mom is working with her, and she's starting to get the hang of it.
Bonnie is now fully vetted, microchipped and ready to go! Won't you please considering filling out an adoption application and giving this sweet girl the forever home she deserves!
