Meet Sophie, this chocolate and tan dapple beauty is new to rescue!
Sophie is tiny. She weighs about 9 pounds and is about a foot and a half long, which Dachshund fans will recognize as not very long. She has kind of a tiny face with beautiful black, brown, grey, and white dappled markings which extend to the rest of her body. We just received her back into foster care a few days ago and she's just amazing. She has held her own with our Springer and our own doxie mix rescue Charlie (Percy) that we got from ATDR.
Beyond that there really is not much else to say. Oh, except that she's a perfect angel. She tends to burrow into blankets and perch on the couch. She loves being held in your lap and will accept petting for as long as you can do it. She'll even stand and put her tiny little feet onto your chest and lean like she's hugging you.
She has taken to following us around and generally comes when we call her in the house. It's probably wise to put your heart in a box and lock it because the moment she rushes up and slides in on her back with her tail wagging looking for a belly rub your heart will melt onto the floor and it'll belong to her forever.
You should adopt this dog if you have a mild mannered dog or no dog in the house. I think she is growing accustomed to the company of Charlie, though... You will have to be able to pet her and smooch her little head a lot and be willing to have a cuddle partner forever that will never question you or criticize you, but instead just love you and wait for you. Don't make her wait long! She's too good to be true!
