Trudy is a very shy little girl who has finally found herself in a world that is not such a scary & hungry place. With a healthy diet & a lot of TLC, she is learning to be tail wagging & happy. She prefers to keep her foster mom is in sight, but also appreciates love and comfort with other humans she has spent time coming to know. Trudy will cautiously test out new friends by inviting them to give her a tummy rub. She gets along well with her foster siblings and enjoys snuggling with her foster brother. She cautiously meets new dogs but soon accepts them as part of her pack. She's starting to play with toys, but for the most part, that means collecting them in her bed to snuggle. Trudy is a calm & quiet snuggler, cuddler, and avid rawhide chewer....she LOVES her rawhides. She prefers women and because she is shy, likes to take some time getting aquainted with new people. But with patience and love she will become your little shadow and sunggly bedfellow. Trucy prefers a quiet home with no loud or young children. Retired, empty nesters would be a great fit for her. She would also do very well in an apartment. Trudy is ready to attach her soft, adoring eyes on a forever family who understands that kindness and gental patience go a long way to healing the memories of a scary pound and nervous days lost on the streets.
Update July 1, 2009 - Trudy is dong very well. She is still a little shy at first but, with her foster mom at her side, is interested in meeting visitors to the house and certainly has come to expand her number of human friends. She greets them at the door and gives gentle little kisses to welcome them in. She even attended the Doxie Races at Buda....a VERY busy place with LOTS of smells, sounds, and strangers. She did very well and impressed everyone. She follows her foster mom around like a little shadow, napping in a little bed in the kitchen corner while cooking is going on and snuggling in the bed while the newspaper is being read. She is sad when mom is gone but content to move into the TV room to keep on eye on her foster dad until she returns. She is a very quiet girl and never makes a peep. Trudy has completed her HW treatment and is ready to begin the next stage of her life in a loving forever home. An experienced dog owner(s) who is retired or an empty nester would be perfect for Trudys preference of a calm, quiet home environemnt to help her continue to emerge from her little shell.
