Meet Mercedes aka Merci' who landed in foster care after her owner passed away. Not surprising that she was initially very shy and skittish, but thanks to wonderful loving foster parents, she has come a long way since then. She gets along well with her foster siblings and does well in her foster home! She has settled into a routine and continues to do well on house manners. She’s very food motivated and therefore loves to learn new things. This adorable girl is very smart, loves to play and gives the best Doxie kisses! She has trimmed up a bit and is about 15 pounds now. She’s not a barker, but even though a bit shy, she will bark at strangers or if she senses danger or a threat like a good little watch dog! In her foster home, Merci’ seems to be leery of men, but with treats and a soft voice she warms up. She loves women and attached quickly to her foster mom. Merci’ may need a little extra time to feel comfortable in her new home, but once she does, she loves to play and is a happy little wiggle butt! Merci’ has a bossy side too! That’s just her “Doxietude” coming out! She comes like a rocket when called—most of the time—is crate trained, and will do “sit” and “down” on command. She loves an afternoon nap with her person, but will sleep quietly in her crate at night and goes there on her own during the day to nap.
