Meet Jules! She was surrendered by her family because her human dad was sick and undergoing frequent treatments. They weren’t home very much and she needed someone there to let her out now and then. ATDR stepped up to help this beautiful girl, placing her in a foster home where she can get the attention and care she needs.
Jules is slow to warm up to other dogs but will ease in to getting close to them. Sadly, a couple years ago three big dogs running loose in her neighborhood attacked her and she had to have emergency surgery to close all of the wounds. This may explain why she’s somewhat timid around other dogs. Because small children often don’t understand how to be gentle with small dogs, or giving them their space when they are eating, sleeping or playing with their own toys, Jules’ forever home should probably be all adults or with grown children only. Also, she’s never been around cats, so we don’t know how she’d react.
Jules needs to be with a family who is home most of the time, as she craves attention. She loves men and already spends more time with her foster dad than her foster mom. Jules is fully house trained. If you’re looking for an pet to share a peaceful life with, please consider submitting an adoption application for Jules. With a little patience and understanding, she will be a sweet companion, in just the right home.
