Bowie is a sweet boy who was rescued from the shelter. He is very active and runs around when he knows it's treat time. He is very loving and wants to belong. When his foster mom pets him, he runs in circles and acts like he's just discovered love for the first time. He likes to give her lots of kisses and sometimes gets in a little love bite. He also enjoys his walks on the leash and he is working on his house training. He tries very hard to please.
It is now October and Bowie has successfully finished the heartworm treatments without missing a beat. He has discovered his foster mom's stash of beanie bears and has started his own collection! He loves to run with the stuffed animals and shake them and throw them so he can go get them. Only a couple of times has he had to give those bears back! And he has decided he can play football with the big boys! Last week his foster mom took him to her grandson's flag football game, and wouldn't you know - Bowie thought they were passing the ball to him - he jumped out of the chair and proceeded to try to catch the pass! After the game, the boys let him play with the nerf football and he was in dog heaven! This dog needs some boys to play with.
His food aggression has almost disappeared, although he wants the other dogs to let him eat first - they are all much larger and don't mind. He loves to play outside with the big dogs who tolerate him most of the time. In his crate at night, he has discovered that he can completely wrap himself up in a blanket and "disappear". And, he is no longer a morning dog - loves to sleep in and wake up on his own time. His foster mom has a new gate on the fence that lets him look out to the street - he talks to all the dogs walking by on their way to the park. His own walks are still learning experiences, but he is such a good boy to mind outside! Nothing about his sweet loving personality could be changed - he is so special and waiting for that family with lots of active kids!
