This is Rudy T! This handsome boy was found along the bayou on the 25th anniversary of the Rockets’ last Championship so he was named for the Rockets' head coach Rudy Tomjanovich who led the team to that title! Rudy is sweet as can be…he is okay with older respectful kids who treat him properly, but should not go to a home with small children. He does very well with other small dogs his size. He has a lot of puppy tendencies, like wanting to play with and chew on toys. Occasionally, he will attempt chewing on things around the house here and there, but he’s a great listener and always stops when told no. He’s a great cuddler and loves to burrow like most dachshunds. He’s still unsure of most people he sees and gives out barks; however, in a few minutes he warms up to others. Even though he barks at strangers, he’s still very friendly and never growls at them or exhibits aggressive behavior. Rudy would make an amazing first dog for a family with older gentle kids who have time to give him love and attention and, ideally, a yard where he can run off some of his puppy energy. Rudy will need a doggie buddy living with him.
In the meantime, if you're looking for a little buddy to love and share life's adventures with, please submit an adoption application for Rudy T! He is the perfect little guy!
