Sweet Ginger came to ATDR from a shelter in North Texas. Sadly this girl tested positive for heart worms so won’t be ready to go until late November. She’ll also be on a nutritious diet to turn her into a better version of the beautiful girl she once was before suffering severe neglect. Her foster mom reports that she's extremely lively and chipper considering her condition and that she's a smart girl, quickly learning how to use to doggy door from the other pups in the house! You can only describe what she's does in backyard as cavorting, and rolling around on the outdoor bed with a cushion is just enjoying life to the fullest. During the night when the doggie door is closed, she’s a good girl and will use a pee pad if she needs to go. Ginger is just a sweetheart and seems so appreciative of kindness. She is very interested in the squirrels…she climbed the firewood leaning against a tree at her foster home attempting to go after a squirrel! She notices squirrels in yards when out for a stroll.
Ginger will be reviewing adoption applications while recovering from her heart worm treatments in the hope of finding a loving person or family, without small children, who will cherish and care for her and never leave her homeless again. If you’re looking for a precious girl to warm your heart and comfortable chair, please submit an adoption application for Ginger. She’ll be ready to go before you know it…
