Tip your hats to Sam Houston! Found as a stray and taken to a shelter, ATDR quickly grabbed this handsome little long-haired fellow when contacted! He’s now enjoying life as a member of a comfortable foster home, getting to know his camp fire mates and enjoying good grub served regularly by a doting foster mom! Sam is also receiving the veterinary care he’s done without as a homeless wanderer on the dusty roads which includes getting on top of a flea allergy and having a good dental. With the help of a few good medicated baths and some TLC he’s quickly turning into the stunning boy we knew he was underneath!
Sam’s foster mom reports that he’s house trained and doesn't hike his leg in the house! He’s quickly learned to use the doggy door. He doesn't require crating but isn't upset when crated. He has been staying gated with a few of his housemates while the people are away from home and doing great! His new adoptive home should include another dog. He really would like to play but most of the dogs in his foster home are old and have no interest. However, he’s respectful of them and gets along with everyone.
If you’re looking for an extremely sweet best friend and companion to share life’s adventures with and already have a nice doggy who would love a playmate, please submit an adoption application for Sam Houston. He’s just waiting to fill that empty spot in your heart and home that only a loving pup can!
