Meet Willie! This handsome young wirehaired boy sadly lost his family because of a divorce and no time to spend with him. Even though he’s still coping with his feelings about all of this, he’s now being well cared for and loved in a comfortable ATDR foster home.
Willie’s foster mom reports that he is high energy and perhaps a bit high strung. The high energy part can be managed with play, regular long walks, moderate treats and toys to keep him engaged. This strong willed young man is going to need a dog/Doxie savvy adopter who knows how to handle a dog with fear aggression and is willing to and knows how to work with him. He'll require time to build trust. He gets along okay with other dogs once he gets to know them but can be jealous and possessive of his people in this regard. Willie should not go to a home with children and would do best in a quiet adult home with few people/strangers coming and going. Stay tuned as we learn more about how to make Willie feel comfortable and happy again.
Willie is super cute and adorable! If you would like to be the person who wins the heart and trust of this fine boy, please submit an adoption application for Willie. He will be well worth the effort and once he decides you’re okay, he’ll be a loyal, protective, loving companion and best friend.
