Description:
Beau is an extremely active dachshund mix pup that was born with a congenital heart defect. He was found as a stray and surrendered to rescue. At the time of his first exam the vet showed immediate concern for his heart beat and rhythm and asked us to consider taking him to a specialist. Beau made his way to Bay Area to the Cardiologist and it was determined that he has a significant heart murmur as well as a Pulmonary stenosis and Cardiomegaly.
Imagine our surprise that this busy youngster was so compromised, it was shocking for his level of activity. Beau is now on blood pressure medicine and we will be reevaluating in six months. There is a surgical procedure that is possible, but risky at best.
Stay tuned as we update on Beau's future health.
Meanwhile he would love a foster home where he can enjoy his life and be the King of the World, a role that he seems to enjoy!
