Say hello to Rex. This handsome little man sadly was surrendered by his people because he was fussy with the 2-legged kids. He's now residing in a loving foster home, learning the ropes and getting to know his bunk mates. ATDR has vowed to help him find the best home out there without kids to deal with where he'll be cherished and well cared for.
Rex's foster parents report that he is house broken with a doggie door in his foster home. He doesn't mind going outside in the rain and will fly out the door to chase the thunder! He doesn't mind being in a crate as long as the door is left open but will be vocal if it's closed. He's a work in progress about his traveling manners, but we're addressing that. Little by little, he's showing improvement. All in all Rex is as sweet as peaches as long as what's going on makes him happy, but he has shown a little attitude otherwise a time or two...working on this with him also and he's showing improvement at managing this.
Latest update from Rex's foster parents: He is more Jack Russell than Beagle in his mannerisms and attitude. We have found that if he gets upset, you can diffuse the issue with calm speech and gentle gestures. He loves being outside and will do best with a person or family who has a securely fenced backyard with access to it via a doggie door.
If yours is a quiet home and you're looking for a best friend and companion to share the good things in life with, please submit an adoption application for Rex. He's anxious to find someone to love and feel safe with again. Rex won't be the right dog to live in an apartment or condo.
