It's me, Duncan! I am currently boarding at a wonderful foster home and there is a little girl there. The first time I saw her I barked at her because I'd never seen such a little human before! Once I saw how sweet and gentle she was, however, I trusted her enough to let her pet me. I spend most of my day playing in the yard with the other dogs at my house. In the evenings I enjoy curling up on the couch with the little girl's Mom or Grandma. I'm good with visitors at our house as long and they don't try to pick me up right away, I need a little bit of time to warm up to strangers! All I ask is that people not grab at me or my food bowl, push me around, or be so touchy-feely all the time. I do love to curl up in my favorite people's lap or next to them under the covers but some people seem to crowd me . I need a calm quiet home filled with gentle energy. A place where humans have patience, respect my personal space, and allow me time to adjust and trust them. I am confident just the right family will come along soon!” Please help me find just the right home!!!
Duncan was found running down the middle of a busy intersection in October. He was not wearing a collar and was not microchipped. He walks great on a leash, is housebroken, enjoys playing fetch with toys and chewing on a raw-hide. He has an extremely sweet personality (except when strangers grab at him). When it is bedtime, he'll curl up under the covers, loves having his belly rubbed, and enjoys gentle kisses on the forehead. He'll stand nice and still to have his leash and halter put on and goes willingly into a crate when it's time to travel. He’s a great little guy who was spared being hit by a car, narrowly escaped euthanasia, and I believe is destined to become someone's beloved lifelong companion. If you have a spot in your heart for this precious little Chiweenie - please fill out the online application! Duncan really really wants a new home!
Update: Duncan is the star of his obedience class! He is doing very well in training and learning to deal with a lot of his fear issues! Duncan is ready for a wonderful, albeit patient home!
