Lady lost the only home she had ever known because of health issues when she was surrendered to an animal shelter by her owner. When ATDR was contacted, of course we said yes and set the wheels in motion to bring her from East Texas down to the Houston/Pearland area to our rescue vet specialists. This sweet girl has experienced discomfort from seizures and a growth on her head and ATDR vowed to spare no efforts with trying to improve her health.
12.2.24 Update: Lady had her ear tumor removed, along with 12 teeth, two weeks ago. She has recovered and bounced back very well. Her left ear skin was pulled tight by stitches after the tumor removal so now the ear stands upright. We're not sure if that will be permanent but it gives Lady some cute character. Unfortunately, the tumor turned out to be mass cell so, sadly, it is likely to return.
5.2.25 Update: Lady will be moved to an ATDR forever foster home where she will be well loved and cared for and live out the time she has left since she has had mass cell cancer which is highly likely to return…. please remember this precious senior girl in your thoughts and prayers.
