Cocopelli is a sweet, beautiful chocolate girl that would love a home of her own! After being with them her whole life, she was surrendered by her owners who clearly never had time for her. She is just deperate to be loved and given belly rubs. She is very playful and active but also loves to cuddle and snooze in a nice lap. Coco gets along well with other dogs and enjoys the company when her people are away. She can sure be a little hog for all the attention. She would do well with a brother who will let her snuggle him and boss him around a little too...she is a bit of a tomboy!!! When she came into rescue, Coco had her fur missing on her ears, nose and tail from ringworm and very brittle and dry coat from poor nutrition. Now she has luschious chocolaty fur, so shiny and soft, and the missing fur is just about grown back in now. Sadly she also had heartworms, but she has done great and is just about to finish her treatment and will be ready to go @ Memorial Day or just before. Please consider giving this cuddly little CocoBean a new home and a family who will love her and lavish her with the attention she deserves!!
UPDATE: 06/01/10 Coco has finished her heartworm treatment and is flying around the house looking for adventures! Her fur has returned and her sweet inner beauty is now shining on the outside once again! She loves playing with her doggie friends and keeping her human in sight to ensure nothing fun is done without her. Coco likes to go outside on walks and prefers to only explore in the backyard if her person comes too. With this in mind, she would probably do well in an apartment. She also is pretty quiet (for a doxie!!). She adores everyone who will pet and love on her and with all her troubles behind her, she is happily waiting for her new family to come find her!!!
UPDATE: 07/12/10 Coco has discovered LIZARDS!!! She believes she is the most fierce and dedicated and excellent lizard huntress that ever was!!! She now loves to be outsde looking for them all over. She has scoped out their most popular hangouts and is always on the prowl. The little frogs that have come out from all the rain in Houston have equally amused her much to THIER dismay! And the earthworms (even under ground) are no match for her Super Coco hearing and nose. She finds them and digs them up to happily dash off with them. While striking fear into the crawly/hoppy community, she has been great entertainment to watch while sitting out on the portch in the evenings!! Although a paw washing is usually in order for her dirtly little toes!!
