Description:

Cowboy has been through a lot but he has already come a long way in a few short months since coming into rescue.  He's now house trained and crate trained.  Cowboy does not like big dogs (makes sense after being attacked by a big dog) so he needs a home with no large dogs and no small children.  He's super sweet, needy and exceptionally loving.  He wants nothing more than to be laying next to his foster mom or sitting on her lap, wherever she may be.  Cowboy needs a special person of his own.  Someone who will keep him safe and make him feel secure.  Someone who will love him for the rest of his life.  He'll return that love ten fold.  If you're that special someone who could fall in love with a "Hop Along Cassidy" cowboy then you need to put in an application for this Cowboy.  Beware: he'll melt your heart with his big, soft, brown eyes.

Cowboy's physical wounds have healed up nicely.  His soft, velvety fur has grown back in on his underside.  The stitches are no longer visible.  He will always have a limp on his front leg but thankfully he did not have to lose his leg.  The orthopedic vet specialist believes that his leg will continue to heal on its own without the need for surgical intervention.  That's no small miracle.  Originally we had been advised that amputation was likely the best option for his damaged leg.  So Cowboy continues to beat the odds. :)
