Meet Luke, one very handsome Corgi/dachsund mix from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter in Conroe. He is a beautiful dog, only 3 years old and was recently neutered during his stay at the shelter. He was abandoned at the shelter at the beginning of April by his former family due to financial reasons. He lived in their backyard, was not allowed in the house. Luke was not properly socialized and is timid when meeting new people. Given time he does warm up but it takes him a bit longer to trust. Once he trusts you, he is very friendly and loving. A behaviorist has determined that he would be fine with a home that is willing to be patient with him and work with him on his socialization. He needs to be in a home that doesn't have young children or other hyper dogs.  He is also working on his crate and house training.  Luke isn't for everyone but if you have a special place in your heart for this very deserving special guy - please fill out the foster or adoption application!

Luke is light heartworm positive but his treatment is being sponsored by the shelter!
