Hi my name is Mirage and I'm a beautiful long haired tan and brown dapple doxie. I was rescued from a breeder and am approximately 6 to 7 years old. I am fixed and just got all of my vaccines for the year. I was kept in a kennel at the breeder's so I've never really been a pet or lived inside. I've been living with the family who rescued me for four months but they have 7 other dogs and are an active family and it's just a little too much for me. I'm a homebody and would prefer to sit on the couch or the dog bed. I'm a little shy at first so it takes a minute to earn my trust but once you do I am a true lady's dog and snuggle bug.  I never fully warm up to men or boys. I am very tolerant of children but I would prefer they be little girls. I'm 90% potty trained and do know how to use the doggie door but if there is a big change or new men in the house I might have an accident. I get along with my 7 foster brothers and sisters but would prefer a house with 1 or 2 other dachshunds. I don't know how I would do with cats but my foster family has chickens and ducks and I've never chased or wanted anything to do with them. I love toys and treats and am very food motivated. I'm looking for someone who has the love and calm to turn me into the perfect pet.
