UPDATE: 6/23/15

Ms. Mimi is recovering from back surgery amazingly well! This sweet girl has been through, neglect, heart worm treatment, and most recently IVDD surgery. And still, she is so very loving and adoring of her caregivers. Thanks to the wonderful volunteers at atdr she is well on her way to being a healthy and happy girl! Her beautiful long coat is growing back and she is doing great with rehab. She still walks like a "drunken sailor",  which is perfectly normal for a dog recovering from back surgery. The strength in her back legs is improving daily. And there will come a day when you will never be able to tell she ever had an issue. This beautiful girl is only lacking one thing to make her world complete! And that is a forever home. She wants nothing more than a warm lap and love. She has lost all of her extra weight and is a svelte 12.8 pds, she is house and crate trained. She loves to explore her yard and belly rubs! Most of all she just wants to be near her human. As you can see Ms Mimi is a beautiful long hair, red head, Doxie girl. She is about 3 years old and appears to be house trained. Ms Mimi is also crate trained but does not like spending time there. What she likes is being as close to her human as possible and she likes belly rubs! Lots and lots of belly rubs! This pretty girl is starved for attention and love. She follows her foster mom every where and is quick to attach to anyone that shows her affection. Ms Mimi was over fed in her previous home and is working on getting her girlish figure back. She weighs about 15 pounds and should weigh about 11 pds when she is at a healthy weight. She loves to go for walks and explore her domain and in case you missed it...she loves belly rubs. Mimi has a gorgeous soft coat and soft brown eyes that melt your heart. This little lady will do best in a one dog home. She is ok with others if you are a strong and experienced dachshund owner and understand the rules about pack order.  Sometimes she is a bit big for her britches!   She feels she deserves ALL of the love, attention and belly rubs from her human and we couldn't agree more.  Ms Mimi is spayed, current on vaccinations and microchipped. 03/19/15 UPDATE!! Ms Mimi is doing FABULOUS in her foster home. She is finishing up her heart worm treatment and will be ready for her new home soon. She has mellowed a lot since first coming into rescue and is getting along with the resident dogs just fine. She still loves belly rubs and has slimmed down to 14 pds, she still needs to lose a couple more pds to be at her idea weight. She is house trained and crate trained and uses the doggy door like a champ. She loves to explore the backyard and go for walks.Ms. Mimi continues to be a total love bug and lap hound. She has become more comfortable in her surroundings and is not a clingy as she was, but still loves to be the center of attention...and still loves BELLY RUBS!...or did we mention that already?
