Meet Guy! This little one was found by the side of the road in a big city suburb. No one came looking for him and we can't imagine that someone doesn't miss his sweet face and sweet and loving personality. Guy is a doll! So happy and grateful to have a spot on the blanket! He is easy to live with and loves other dogs and children. Guy is a red and white double dapple who seems to have no issues with hearing or sight. This sweet baby is having trouble walking and is having potty issues.
Update from Foster: "Guy" (we call him Baxter). Baxter is such a sweet boy who seems to have had a tough life prior to finding his way to ATDR. It seems that he had the back tendons of both back legs cut, which makes it difficult for him to get around, but he has such a big heart and loves to play, it doesn't slow him down that much. My guess is that he was used as a bait dog for dog fighting. It also seems that he has had his back broken at some point because he is incontinent especially with his fecal movements. He goes whenever he has to go wherever he is. Even when he has just been outdoors. He feels so bad when he does it that he tries to clean it up (eat it) himself. He can control urination a little better, but when he is excited to see you, he doesn't have much control over this as well. He is such a loving little guy and loves to be patted and sit on you, but at times seems to have flashbacks to bad times of his life in that he will growl and lashout as if waking up from a nightmare. Due to these hardships in Baxter's previous life, we don't see Baxter as being adoptable. It would not be fair to him nor his adopters. They would have to have a tremendous amount of patience and understanding with him and the circumstances would have to be just right (no young children because he has issues with his legs being handled and is possessive of bones/toys to the point of baring teeth and growling). We feel that Baxter will be a forever foster. He's a precious boy and deserves to have love and quality in his life...
ATDR is seeking sponsorship for Guy Baxter. Any amount would be a great help. Go to the Donate button on the front page of this site or mail a check to ATDR at P. O. Box 841336, Pearland, TX 77584 if you'd be kind enough to make a contribution toward his care.
