Meet Rodger. He and his son Skinny’s owner moved off and left them at the old house. Another family member found out and called ATDR. We jumped at the chance to help these two neglected babies. Apparently, Rodger was allowed to live in the house, but poor little Skinny was banished to the back yard 24/7 where he also spent the recent arctic freeze! Our hearts cried at the thought of this…Skinny will never be neglected again. Both babies are now safe and warm in a comfortable ATDR foster home where they’ll be loved and cared for while we address all their needs and then find loving forever homes for them.
They are sweet but timid. Skinny is more timid than Rodger, but they'll both come around with a little time and trust building. Their whole world was turned upside down within 36 hrs. They were not treated very kindly by their previous owner, and their health was definitely neglected. ATDR is working on bringing them up to speed.
Their foster mom reports that Rodger likes to play with tennis balls. He's very cuddly and likes to sit in a lap.
Even though they are father and son, they didn’t actually live together with one being inside and the other outside. It would be nice if they could go to a home together, but they don’t seem bonded and would be okay being adopted separately.
If you’re looking for a precious tiny pair, please submit an adoption application for both these little ones. If you’re looking for only one, Rodger is available now. As for Skinny, he's tested positive for heart worms so won't be ready for adoption until the end of May or early June. These babies are so deserving of a better life where they’ll be loved and cherished and never mistreated again. Please open your heart and home to either both or one of them.
