Description:

Say hello to sweet Ranger… This precious boy was surrendered to a loving lady experienced with working with disabilities like his who has now become a part of ATDR, along with Ranger, as his foster mom. She says, “Special needs pups are my favorite! They’re amazing and don’t realize how special they are….”

Ranger’s original family cared enough to let him go to a home better equipped at and more dedicated to giving him the kind of care he had been needing for a good while. In just three weeks’ time, Ranger’s foster mom worked with him enough to get a little weight off him and get him standing on his feet again to a degree. She says that when he came to her, he was not able to even stand on his back legs. It was like his back legs were butterflies and he would have a hard time dragging himself. He was struggling more being overweight so she put him on a little diet and he lost two pounds. She also believes because they have been outside and have also been working with him in the hot tub, his feet are moving more and more ever since beginning to work with him. In addition to massage therapy in the tub, he has also been running around in the yard on his little cart chasing around with the other pups in the house strengthening his upper body and getting some much-needed exercise. She says she will definitely continue working with those little legs.

Knowing Ranger needed more, she reached out to ATDR for help and he is now doing in-house evaluation and rehab at Safari Veterinary Care Center in the hope of getting him independently mobile again to whatever degree he might be capable of after going without treatment like this for longer than he should have.

Ranger is one fortunate little pup to have a foster mom who knows how to work with him and is willing to go the distance to help him recover as much as he possibly can in addition to whatever Safari can do for him. Oh, and by the way, Ranger LOVES playing fetch!!! See video below and watch him go in his little cart! ❤️

Care like Ranger is undergoing at Safari is very costly and he’s worth every penny of it and more… If you would like to help ATDR help Ranger, please consider going to the Donate button on the menu on the left-hand side of this page or send a check or money order to the PO Box above it! No amount could be too small or too large, and anything would be greatly appreciated!
